"You've been given [...] 10 chances to keep your job when you should've been fired"

GM put in his two weeks & asked my friend to cover part of a shift. She asked to think about it. GM didn't like that.

My friend has been working full time at a bar for awhile now and has been (mostly) enjoying it; we work together some weekends.

The GM has been there awhile and has been a pretty agreeable guy, though ultimately lazy. He put in his two weeks yesterday morning, then in the evening asked my friend if she'd cover part of a weekday shift. She asked to think about it, and then this morning received the following text:

"How much time do you need to think about covering two hours? Nevermind. Wow you're so oblivious that you do nothing for anyone except yourself. You've given no appreciation to all the shifts you've had covered for you, while never once offering to cover anyone else's.

SYou've been given at least 10 chances to keep your job when you should've been fired. You're selfish and clearly unfit. I'm going to advise [owner] to ask someone else to run the bar."

I'm f floored and encouraging her to forward the message to the bar owner so he's aware of the situation. I'm also

EXTREMELY tempted to figure out his new employer so I can show them how he communicates with employees.

foolsmonologue OP. 22 hr. ago What makes that even better, IMO, is that she has no desire to be bar manager and run the place - so it's a fully empty petty threat. He recommended her to take over not 24 hours prior, too!

BlackPhoenix1981. 22 hr. ago Yeah definitely get a hold of the owner and let them know what the situation is. you could even do it anonymously if you fear repercussion.

Irondaddy_29. 1 yr. ago This is what happens when entitled children grow up with karen mommies who always excuse their faults. They become narcissistic GMs who run to their work mommies (owner) when they don't get their way
